Zero Colour Cast ND Filters For Action Camera
A zero colour cast Neutral Density (ND) filter is a specialized camera filter designed to reduce the amount of light entering the lens without altering the natural color balance or tint of the final image or video.
What Does “Colour Cast” Mean?
When standard or lower-quality ND filters block light, they often do so unevenly across the light spectrum. This uneven absorption introduces an unwanted color tint across your footage or photo—typically:
• Warm casts: Yellowish, orange, or reddish hues.
• Cool casts: Blueish or cyan hues.
• Infrared (IR) casts: Magenta or purplish tints (especially common with dark ND filters, like 6-stop or 10-stop filters, under bright sunlight).
