Difference between screen protector matt film (also known as paper-like )& tempered glass-
Paper-like-
As the name suggest matt film is a combination of PET film a glue base film & additional film with paper-like matt surface. It mimics the feeling of paper surface thus it helps in writing drawing on ipad or any other devices. Matt films also reduce screen surface reflection.Its great in reading in daylight under sun. It’s specifically made for artists & note takers on tablet or other mobile devices. Paper-like matt film feels just like real paper in touch thus it’s very useful for sketching. It accurately captures the strokes & pressure. Where as tempered glass feels like writing on glass slippery & tend to slip skip a bit.
Matt films are normally having having 3H protective toughness. It’s not that great in protecting the screen compared tempered glass of 9H hardness. Also since the paperlike film is not glass but a PET film with matt surface it reduces the light transmittance a bit mostly up to 90-93%. So viewing HD videos you may find the colour vibrance reduces sightly. It’s negligible though. However the cheap PET film matt paper likes are prone to reduce the light transmittance upto 80% specially those anti glare blue type films.

Tempered Glass-
Whereas tempered glass is a combination of toughened glass surface up to 9H multi film base adhesive layer. General purpose of tempered glass is protection of the device screen.
